M8- exploring line

1. What was it like using your hand as subject matter for a drawing?

I have used my hand as a subject matter since high school, so this was like revisiting old projects which was nice.

2. What media did you select - pencil or charcoal? Why?

I selected pencil because I thought that using charcoal would be too difficult t=with my non-dominant hand.

3. How did it feel to create a drawing with your non-dominant hand?

I am in drawing 2 now, so some of our warmups for drawing figures was done with our non dominant hand, so this isn't new to me but it was still difficult.

4. Compare and contrast your final drawings. Do you think they are successful studies?

I think that they were both great and interesting sketches and it makes me want to draw hands more often.

5. Would you consider using your non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future?

Yes because it helps you brain learn shapes easier because you aren't focusing on making it turn out perfect but more on what the basic shape is.
